This was a text book for my mother, who is currently getting her degree in psychology. She found it incredibly interesting and reccomended that I read it myself.
This book is enlightening and I feel as though it explains why certain members of society act as they do... PTSD isn't a condition strictly for war vets. Anyone who has lived through a traumatic event in their life can develope it. Post Traumatic, literally means after a trauma.
The Body Keeps the Score, explains how trauma has a phsiological response in our bodies and how even years after said trauma, our brains and our bodies are still very much effected.
Very interesting read, especially if you know someone with PTSD.
